AMERICUS, GA (WALB)- Information from South Georgia Technical College-

Jett Coptsias of Plains, a South Georgia Technical College Law Enforcement Academy (LEA) cadet, was selected to receive the Lt. Michael Sangster endowed Law Enforcement Academy scholarship recently.

Four year old abducted by mom, injured in wreck

EASTMAN, GA (WALB)- Sumter County authorities say that 4 year old Mi-kurhea Mumford was taken by her mother, who does not have custody, this morning in Americus.

Her mother, 24 year old Priscilla Hurt, was in a car wreck in Dodge County, and the child was injured. She was taken to a Macon hospital.

Warrants have been taken for Hurt, who is in jail in Eastman.

LAKE BLACKSHEAR, GA (WALB)- A tougher boating under the influence is now in effect making the new legal limit for BUI's the same for drivers on Georgia's roads.

State leaders were at Lake Blackshear, a stop on their "where the rudder meets the road tour" to spread the word that driving under the influence will not be tolerated.

State and local law agencies are teaming up and cracking down on boaters operating a vessel under the influence.

Scuba Olympics coming to Albany
