President Jimmy Carter and family will be joined by 200 children from Sumter County Boys & Girls Club, ASTEP afterschool program for Sumter County, and 4-E Learning for a Ride For Literacy aboard famed story book hero, Thomas the Tank Engine™.  

Thomas will making a “special delivery” of books to Plains to help bring greater awareness to the Learning for Everyone Avenue to Progress program (LEAP), a local literacy program started by the former president’s niece, Kim Fuller.

CRISP and SUMTER COUNTIES, GA – News release from South Georgia Technical College

South Georgia Technical College’s Diesel Equipment Technology program recently added a new tool to the program.

The custom-made Meritor WABCO hydraulic brake trainer will allow instructors to train students on the latest hydraulic and antilock brakes system (ABS) components on the market.
The medium/heavy duty brake trainer was custom built by L&L Fabricating in Ohio.
