Phoebe president and CEO named in top 100 by Georgia Trend

ALBANY, GA - Joel Wernick, the president and CEO of the Phoebe Putney Health System was recognized in the 100 Most Influential Georgians by Georgia Trend magazine.

Wernick, who has been Phoebe’s CEO since 1988, was profiled in the issue with other individuals selected “for the power and influence they wield.” According to Georgia Trend, “These are the people who affect the lives and livelihood of all Georgians in one way or another.”

Wernick is also a faculty member for Georgia Southwestern State University.

Red Cross needs Americus's help with blood donations

Red Cross needs Americus's help with blood donations

AMERICUS, GA  – The American Red Cross Southern Blood Services Region has issued a holiday challenge to help prevent winter blood shortages.

Their goal is to collect 30,000 pints of blood before December 31, 2011. 

“It’s the season of giving and there’s one gift that won’t cost you a penny, but means the world to a patient in need. By donating blood, you can give someone an opportunity to spend another holiday with their loved ones,” said Randy Edwards, Chief Executive Officer, of Southern Blood Services Region.
