AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Former South Georgia Tech star Jae Crowder wanted to become one of the top players players in the Big East.
This season he was the best of the best.
The Marquette forward was named the player of the year in the Big East Conference on Tuesday.
It is the second time Crowder was won player of the year honors.
Three years ago he was the Georgia Junior College player of the year when he played at South Georgia Tech in Americus.
Crowder is third in the conference in scoring, ninth in rebounding and second in steals.
He led Marquette to a second place finish in the Big East and Marquette will play either Louisville or Seton Hall in the Big East tournament on Thursday.
