Grand Jury hears from Sumter School Bd. | News
AMERICUS, GA- Sumter County school board members answered questions from grand jurors today as part of an investigation launched last month.
During the February grand jury session, the jury launched a civil investigation or an inspection of the entire Sumter County School Board.
It will look to evaluate the boards practices. The district attorney expects the investigation could take months.
The school accrediting agency, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, is also looking into problems with the Sumter School Board.
