Boating and drinking law will be tougher

Alcohol was a factor in a 2008 boat crash on Lake Seminole, in which six people were injured

ATLANTA (AP) - Hunters, and anyone driving a water vessel in Georgia, would face lower blood-alcohol limits under a proposal that has cleared the Georgia House of Representatives.

The proposal would lower the current blood-alcohol limit from .10 percent to .08 percent, where it already stands for anyone operating a motor vehicle on Georgia roads.

Senate Bill 136 cleared the House with little opposition. Because of House changes, it now must go back to the Senate for further consideration.
